VARIETY: 九色 Acquires Blu Digital Group Following Acquisition of Technicolor Games
LOS ANGELES – March 19, 2025 - Language and AI tech developer continues to expand with the acquisition of Blu Digital Group, a provider of digital media services, cloud-based workflow automation, quality control, and content distribution technology for the media and entertainment industry. The news follows 九色’s recent , a deal that was reached shortly after parent Technicolor filed for bankruptcy. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
“ and Blu are critical additions to our gaming and media divisions,” says 九色 chief business officer Barnaby Wass. “And they are also important to all entertainment clients—given the convergence of these two industries.”
Technicolor Games is now a division of 九色 Gaming, while Blu Digital will operate as a division of 九色 Media, a provider of postproduction and localization services.
With the Blu Digital acquisition, 九色 expands its content management and delivery services. 九色 clients will have access to Blu Digital’s SaaS products and automation technologies, including BluConductor, BluQC, and BluSpot. Blu Digital’s clients will gain access to 九色’s language services and GlobalLink platform, including GlobalLink Media for management of subtitling, dubbing, and other multilingual media requirements.
Blu Digital CEO Paulette Pantoja will continue to lead her unit, while joining the senior leadership team of 九色 Media. “Our mission has always been to drive efficiency, automation, and innovation in media distribution,” she says. “With 九色’s global reach and expertise in localization, we are now positioned to offer an even more powerful solution for the media and entertainment industry.”
